Here are some important things to consider when choosing a baseball or softball bat. It is always a good idea to check with your league governing body to see what the bat requirements are.
High School & College players need a 2 5/8” diameter big barrel bat with a -3 length-to-weight ratio.
Fastpitch bats and softball bats are for women's softball leagues where the ball is pitched underhand and at a high velocity. They tend to be lighter than slowpitch softball bats.
Slowpitch bats and softball bats are for men's, women's or co-ed teams where the ball is lobbed underhand at a low velocity.
Fungo bats are used by coaches for hitting grounders and fly balls in order to help players practice fielding skills.
